Help Palestinian farmers and their families: The East Jerusalem YMCA and YWCA, with the Alternative Tourism Group, are organizing a tree planting program, part of the Joint Advocacy Initiative Keep Hope Alive campaign. Besides planting, there will be presentations about the current situation in Palestine and the effects of the apartheid wall; tours of Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Old City Jerusalem; as well as cultural and social events. You will stay at a hotel or with a local family and have a tour guide.
Cost: $750; includes accommodation, meals, guides, and local transportation. It does not include air fare or travel to and from the airport.
