'Beyond the Wall': Detroit art exhibit shows real life in Palestine

The exhibition is a collaborative effort by the Detroit chapters of the Jewish Voice for Peace, Friends of Sabeel-North America, the Michigan Peace Team and Michigan's Palestine Cultural Office.
Opens September 24, 2011 at the Swords Into Plowshares Peace Center & Gallery, located in Detroit's Central United Methodist Church at 33 East Adams.

Horsley, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Liberal Arts and the Study of Religion, University of Massachusetts, Boston-- author of Jesus and the Powers: Conflict, Covenant and the Hope of the Poor (2011), Jesus and Empire: The Kingdom of God and the New World Disorder (2002), and some 20 other books on Jesus' message in an age of oppression and violence.

FOSNA Northern California co-sponsors "Two Peoples, One Future" Ad Campaign

In early December, NorCal Friends of Sabeel joined Jewish Voice for Peace and American Muslims for Palestine in sponsoring ads in Bay Area Rapid Transit  stations calling for end of U.S. military aid to Israel.  This Spring & Summer, 2011, we're fundraising for a more extensive campaign.  Read more here.

FOSNA DC Metro: Joins Divestment Campaign at TIAA-CREF's Washington Office

Fosna joined friends from Jewish Voice for Peace, United Palestinian Appeal, Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, and others, outside the Washington office of TIAA-CREF.  If you haven't yet, learn more about the TIAA-CREF campaign and sign the petition by clicking here

 FOSNA Northern California:

Printed and distributed this letter at a September 2010 town hall meeting where Rep. Barbara Lee was to speak.  NorCal voluteers placed on every chair in the auditorium and passed them out to everyone.  They are now exploring ways to include other representatives and plan to circulate it on a social networks such as Facebook. If you are looking for a way to reach your representatives, this may help you.

On October 15, 2010, NorCal Fosna wrote An Open Letter to Northern California Voters urging them to tell their representatives to place conditions on aid to Israel and to require compliance with international and US law before any funds are dispersed.

We joined Women in Black and Jewish Voice for Peace on "Black Friday", the day after Thanksgiving, to take the message, "This Holiday Season, Let's Give Thanks to Our Peacemakers & Give the Gift of Peace," to shoppers and merchants in the Union Square area of San Francisco.


FOSNA LA and Orange County: Speaker on October 3, at Grace Presbyterian Church, Long Beach, 3-5 pm.  Kathleen O'Connor Wang, Flotilla passenger and Free Gaza Movement activist, relayed her experiences on the first boat to reach Gaza.
